That's entirely correct. We release 18.7 development milestones into 18.1.x when they are ready. Tukan will be in 18.1.9.

18.1 Legacy Series / Re: Upgrade to 18.1.8 fails
« on: May 20, 2018, 01:04:49 pm »
Since all of our ecosystem is open source, it's easy to find the one instance throwing the error:
https://github.com/opnsense/src/blob/master/contrib/libarchive/libarchive/archive_write_disk_posix.c#L3306-L3307
So something inside libarchive's set_time() is wrong, but the error is not very elaborate.
Not an expert on this, so it may be worth asking the libarchive developers what this could be. There's already an open ticket from 2016 but no troubleshooting yet.

Apollo Lake issues are discussed in the forum, it needs custom loader tunables at the moment, but may change with FreeBSD 11.2, which we have not yet active so in short no image will help you here.

Leider nein. Die Möglichkeit der Speicherung von Kommandos im config.xml ist intern umstritten.

Yes, FreeBSD 11.1 install on the standard ZFS settings is required. The procedure to install OPNsense 18.1.8 or later on top is explained here: https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?topic=4255.0

Yes, sending a kit over temporarily. No APU2C2 crossed my desk that showed this behaviour.

17.7 Legacy Series / Re: I really have to sit through this LiveCD B.S. to install now?
« on: May 19, 2018, 06:03:02 pm »
For 18.7: https://github.com/opnsense/core/commit/b123c3a1
If one breaks to the early importer on an install media boot and issues "!", the resulting shell will be able to run "opnsense-installer" now, which was expanded to support an early invoke of itself.
Nobody wrote a single line of code since the writing of this post. It gives an idea of how this should be prioritised, documented and hidden away to be reserved for advanced use only.
Cheers,
Franco

General Discussion / Re: How pathetic!!

This is nothing new. Everything is open source, except when open source and forking hurts business. Then the trademark is enforced and DCMA is leveraged. Same thing in 2014:

Let it go guys, nothing to see here...

Hi Perun,
