General Discussion / Proxmox / OPNsense
« on: October 21, 2024, 04:28:14 am »
My Primary Router (Bare metal) is crashing, and I need to figure out what is causing it. I decided to create a backup router (using 2 of Home Network Guy's Opnsense guides); the backup device's WAN was connected to my local existing network as I worked on it. It runs Proxmox with an Opnsense VM and is set up shutdown/startup priority 1. I want to be able to make this change seamlessly.

What to know for the next part.
Proxmox IP 10.0.1.111
LAN IP 10.0.1.1

The issue I am having is that when I replace the Primary OPNsense device with the Backup, the Backup never pulls the actual WAN IP. Instead, it keeps attaching the 10.0.1.1 IP, which was the Primary's.

Please help me figure out what is going wrong. I can and will provide screenshots

Yes i can ping them. Takes 5-10 mins but the phones are able to connect to internet. Qould it be better to connect the aps to the router directly.

Yes, they get an ip. Most of the devices have no way to ping.

Here is a very simple network that does not show 99% of my devices.  My phone actually takes between 5-10 mins to go from Connected without internet to connected.

Good evening,

Firstly, I want to say that I'm a very new user to opnsense. I just setup my n100 device using proxmox and then installed opnsense to a VM.

I'm having issues with my Amazon devices not being able to connect to the internet. They can get IP's but are unable to get out to the internet

Hardware
Unifi AC-Pro
Hunsn N100 (opnsense)
unifi 24 port switch
5 amazon devices.
Other devices seem to work fine.

Updated Other devices are not fine.
