General Discussion / Re: Firewall loses connection periodically and is no longer external available
« on: March 08, 2019, 08:46:42 am »
Unfortunately again the firewall dropped it's connection and had to be rebooted by the customer. Also I cannot find anything in the logfile even though I've set the GUI to show me the last 2000 lines.

Anyone any idea how to start troubleshooting here?

Regards,
Bram Quispel

Hi,

yeah I understand it's a prettyg vague description  :-\
I've upgraded last friday to the latest version and am now waiting when the connection drops again. If it does I will get back to you  ;)

General Discussion / Firewall loses connection periodically and is no longer external available

Hi,

I am pretty new to OPnsense so am still trying to find my way in the GUI compared to pfSense.
The issue my client is having is that about every week or so their internet connection drops and the firewall seems the issue. Whenever they unplug the device and re-insert the power cable then as soon as it's booted everything is working ok again. I have been looking at the logfiles but wasn't able to find anything useful. So i am turning to the forum searching for help and assistance in resolving this :)

Something about the config of the OPnsense;
- IPSec tunnel to a remote pfSense for print traffic
- Delivers IP-addresses internally via DHCP

So it's pretty basic but I have some issues with troubleshooting and to find the proper logs. Any suggestions on where to start?
