20.7 Legacy Series / Re: Cannot Delete alias
« on: August 22, 2020, 09:16:01 pm »
Thank you for the help.

They aliases were connected to a group Firewall>Group that had been deleted.   I guess when the group got deleted it did not deleted the rules associated with it.  Those rules did not show up since that group was deleted.

Thanks
Chris

20.7 Legacy Series / Cannot Delete alias
« on: August 20, 2020, 09:48:16 pm »
I have 2 alias I am trying to delete but I get the following error

Cannot Delete alias. currently in use by
[filter.rule.7/source.address]
filter.rule.8/destination.address]

The other alias is the same but with rule 6 and 9.

I have checked and non of the rules have any of these alias.   I did have rules using those alias but they have been deleted.

I have done a states reset and also rebooted the firewall.

Using 20.7.1

Thanks
Chris

17.7 Legacy Series / Re: 17.7 and Server 2008 Hyper-v
« on: October 30, 2017, 05:00:36 pm »
This is a new server so currently it would be running only one guest for OPN and one Guest for email platform(windows 2008).

I have a copy of Server 2012 running on another Server.  I may try to see if it would run on that.

I was trying to keep all my vm's on hyper-v to be able to move them easier.

I will load another 2012 server up and see if it will run OPN.    I know PF will run on it but I have not gotten opn on 2012 to run.  I will have to play more with it.

Thanks for your help and input !

No software assurance.   I bought the servers on a gov surplus and they came loaded with server 2008 r2 std.

I have not been able to get it to run on hyper-v 2008.

This is a small business environment.
Thanks

I am running Server 2008 R2.   When I do the install it never can find hard drive.

I have tried the both the DVD and vga iso.   I would upgrade to 2012 or 2016 but I have an enterprise license and I am running 4 virtual servers on the system and I do not want to spin up another server just for this.

Thanks

I have searched the forums and have tried the set hw.ata.disk_enable="1" with both the amd64 and 32bit versions with no luck .. I never can find the hard drive.

I am using the DVD Image

I have tried using both ISO and SCSI in the Hyper-V settings.

Any help appreciated.
Thanks

17.7 Legacy Series / Re: IDS and Firewall Rules

Franco,

Thank you for the insight.      Does using Geoblocking in the firewall affect performance vs the IDS.

I was using geoblocking in the firewall rules and I was getting an error that it was unable to load the rule in memory.    I did have lots of countries blocked.

17.7 Legacy Series / IDS and Firewall Rules

When are IDS rules applied as compared to the firewall rules.

I am doing country blocks in IDS but would like to pass certain email servers in the blocked areas.

I have a firewall rule to allow them but they are still getting blocked by the IDS.

Is there a way away to allow specific IP through in IDS ?

Any help appreciated.
Chris
