can we have a feature request section on this forum.
that way we can also have votes, or it, incase more users want it as well.

in this case, how would you send tcp traffic to a modem.

perhaps u need an ata device.

on the ata device you will configure the voip settings, and u need to ensure that the appropriate firewall ports both inbound/outbound are open for voip, and also voip proxy ports, if the service provider for voips uses proxy.

17.1 Legacy Series / Scheduled Config Backups
February 08, 2017, 08:37:36 PM
Hi franco,

Is it possible to also include a schedule to be able to schedule hourly and/or daily backups to an alternate location within the installed disk path.

and the ability to put in date-time text appended to backup file.

that way, we can easily identify the config file by the name.

Also, the restore functionality to be able to see this local path for restoring purposes, if possible.

as a matter of isolation, deploy a new vm [latest vm hardware level] and perform fresh installation on 17.1 [ensure you select OS type as BSD equivalent]

deploy vmware tools. not from the vmware vsphere. but from the opnsense updates/tools section.
reboot and see outcomes.

if it works ok, deploy the config file from previous old/opnsense and into new one.

when u install fresh, ensure that in bios the sata port is set to ahci [atleast it worked foe me]

perform the installation in eufi mode. post instalaltion, reboot and change bios boot to legacy bios as oppose to eufi

and select your hdd for boot disk. viola.

change wan and lan ip address to something else, and see if it rebinds to default ports, then change back up the ip addresess of wan/lan ip, and it will rebind to default ports.

may be worth trying.

I'm in the favor that this should be available, without the need to do any manual cron jobs.

This was, every think is from within the gui [even though it run scripts in background]

perhaps there should be a forum, where we put in requests of what features we'd like to have.

17.1 Legacy Series / [SOLVED] Scheduled Reboot
February 08, 2017, 07:40:02 AM
I see under maintenance, that there ar 2 options, reboot and power off.

is there any chance to have a scheduler to perform reboots as various times.

practical reason is i have an old white box running opnsense, and it packs up.
