Hello,

I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing an issue where it's not possible to install the latest version of ntopng (6.7). Instead, only the outdated OPNsense‑provided version appears, which hasn't been updated for quite some time.

Has anyone found an alternative way to access or install the latest ntopng release, apart from the official instructions, given that OPNsense does not update it regularly?

Hi everyone,
After upgrading Suricata to version 25.7.6 on my OPNsense system, I'm encountering repeated errors when trying to start the service. The logs show the following:

This message appears multiple times, both from root and kernel, and Suricata never successfully starts. Prior to the upgrade, everything was working fine.
Here's what I've checked so far:

No stale PID file (/var/run/suricata.pid)
Permissions on /usr/local/etc/suricata and config files are correct
Configuration file (suricata.yaml) passes validation
Network interface is correctly defined and exists
Tried restarting via CLI and GUI, same result

I suspect this might be related to changes introduced in 25.7.6, but I haven't found any breaking changes documented yet.
Has anyone else experienced this issue after the upgrade? Any suggestions or known fixes?

Hello,

I need a little help and I'm wondering how I can reset the password for ntop, which was installed according to the instructions from the ntop website (https://www.ntop.org/guides/ntopng/third_party_integrations/opnsense.html).

There were no problems with the installation, but there are problems when I try to log in to the portal, because it does not work with the default password (admin/admin).

That's why I followed the password change procedure (https://www.ntop.org/guides/ntopng/faq.html#cannot-login-into-the-gui), but it creates a problem, because it tells me:

(error) OOM command not allowed when used memory > 'maxmemory'

if i run:

redis-cli config get maxmemory
1) "maxmemory"
2) "16384"

Maybe you can advise me where and how to solve this problem?

p.s.: I would like to follow the development of ntop.org which updates the app more often.
