German - Deutsch / Telekom Speedport Hybrid und OPNSense

Hi zusammen, bin bisher nicht auf einen zielführenden Beitrag gestoßen…

Wir bekommen ab dem 13.07. (kein Glasfaser, DSL nur 16Mbit‘s) DSL von der DTAG mit der Hybrid Option (bis zu 300Mbit’s) und sind quasi an diesen Router gebunden.

Jetzt ist es ja bekanntlich so, dass der Speedport Hybrid nicht als reines Modem genutzt werden kann, zumindest nicht offiziell (Rückmeldung der DTAG).

Hat jemand selbe Kombination erfolgreich im Einsatz und/oder Idee wie dies trotzdem klappt? Router und Router/Firewall mit OPN Sense macht ja dann kein Sinn.

Hardware and Performance / Use Smartphone as a Modem, input source für opnsense

Hello community,
since I have several smartphones (Android and Apple devices) at my disposal, the thought occurred to me that I would like to use one of the smartphones as a modem for the opnsense. How could this work in practice? Activate thethering on the smartphone and connect it to the "Mini PC on which opnsense is running" via a USB cable?

Will the USB interface be recognized as a WAN interface?
