20.7 Legacy Series / Hyper-v Gen2 VM hang at installer

The opnsense installer hangs at the selection of guided/manual install when run on a Hyper-V gen2 vm.
The workaround from a year ago still works, ctrl-C after the hang, re-login as installer, then proceed.
Just curious if this needs more data to be fixed correctly, I'd be willing to help with that.
Or perhaps a workaround/shim when the installer detects it's being installed on a UEFI (gen2) Hyper-V vm?
