24.1 Legacy Series / Installer cant finish booting, live boot is broken.
« on: February 26, 2024, 08:13:16 pm »
Is there a way to just boot into the installer without it attempting a live boot?

It pauses on WAN for about 15 minutes, and then stops on starting ntp service.  These problems are likely that because I am booting in a test environment where is no working WAN connection.

I have tried giving it 2 hours, and its still sitting on starting ntp service.

General Discussion / upgrade path from 18.7.10 to latest
« on: September 26, 2021, 06:29:11 am »
Hi guys, got a VM on 18.7.10, it let me update to 18.7.10 from an older 18.7 fine.

Its now telling me to go to 19.1, but after I select unlock it only shows 21.x builds and I dont know if I can go directly to one of them.

Selecting update in the shell menu says no updates found.

General Discussion / duplicating pfblockerng features
« on: January 11, 2018, 08:33:40 pm »
Hi guys.

My friends have already migrated to opnsense from pfsense, and I agree with the reasons they migrated, so am looking to migrate myself also, but the showstopper for me at the moment is pfblockerng.

I use it for 2 purposes.

1 - To load up DNSBL lists in my firewall to reroute traffic to a blackhole http server that hosts an empty image.  I know I could probably get this working manually like I used to on asuswrt, but I would much prefer a simpler solution provided within opnsense somehow.
2 - To load up ASN lists for the purpose of classifying traffic.

Has anyone got a solution to these problems? thanks.
