General Discussion / LAN with client isolation
« on: June 15, 2021, 01:50:26 pm »
I need to set a VLAN on that clients can't see each other. Something like with 255.255.255.255 subnet mask from PPPoE ISP. Is there a way to manage it via DHCP server?

Zenarmor (Sensei) / Whitelist problem
« on: May 30, 2021, 04:39:22 pm »
With this version comes tabbed White/Black lists.
When I'm trying to add domain it returns:

"1220 - SQLite3..prepare(). Unable to prepare statement. 1, table custom_web_category_sites has no column named category_type (errno=2)"

with no success to add the domain.

Zenarmor (Sensei) / Reinstall Sensei after Elasticsearch crash
« on: May 30, 2021, 12:59:19 pm »
I guess many of us have Elasticsearch stalled after update Sensei.
At least I had it on some of routers, managed by me. Reset reporting or reinstall Sensei not helping.
It is a pain in the @ss if we have to reinstall the entire OPNsense.
I found a simple solution in other place and want to share it, so we have it in the forums here:

1. Backup Sensei configuration, white and black lists first.
2. Connect to the router via SSH or local console and press 8 for Shell.
3. Run this in the console:

Code: [Select]
pkg remove elasticsearch5

cd /usr/local/etc

rm -rf elasticsearch

4. When you click on some Sensei subnemu, it will demand install, but this time will work :)
5. Restore you white and blacklists.
6. Buy me a beer :)

If there a simpler way post it here.

General Discussion / Can't get memory ballooning to work
« on: February 20, 2021, 06:54:49 pm »
Hi peeps,

I've tried to bring memory ballooning on, but no go for now.
It's under Proxmox 6.3-2, given memory is 2 to 6gb but it's consumes over 90% even after flesh install
Also tried to put "virtio_balloon_load="YES"" in /boot/loader.conf.local - same story: sorry :(

P.S.
i see that this problem is resolved eventually in version 10.3 before 5 years:

19.1 Legacy Series / How to disable IPv6
« on: April 10, 2019, 04:16:01 pm »
Hi,

I need just to disable IPv6 in OPNsense. Totally and everywhere.
I disabled it in every place i find, but still see IPv6 logs in firewall and IPv6 address in interfaces.
Is there a guide to eradicate the IPv6 for good if it can't be disabled?
May be on lower level in the BSD base?
May be in System>>Settings>>Tunables set "net.inet6.ip6.redirect - Enable sending IPv6 redirects" to 0 ?
All other ideas are welcomed...

other idea: is there a way to prevent IPv6 events from showing up in firewall logs?

19.1 Legacy Series / How to edit the notorious "Default deny rule"
« on: February 13, 2019, 10:00:23 pm »
Hi felas,

i have a problem behind several routers with accessing Dahua DVR/NVRs by serial number (Dahua's DDNS).
Edited Firewall>>LAN>>Advanced>>State>>State Type to 'none' and the default deny rule still kicks in :(
Any clue?

p.s. it's all about asymmetrical routing. Is there a way to allow it for sure?

Hardware and Performance / Good ITX board with limited availability
« on: February 06, 2019, 09:06:06 pm »
From time to time i observe the net for a decent ITX 12V(or wider DC power tolerance) with proper components for a x86 router. I guess i find one in Intel:
https://solutionsdirectory.intel.com/solutions-directory/d3543-s-industrial-series-mini-itx-mainboard
and found it also in Fujitsu:
http://www.fujitsu.com/fts/products/computing/peripheral/mainboards/industrial-mainboards/d3543s.html

I am in Bulgaria, and here such boards are hard to find and order. Is anyone seen this board anywhere ot order single piece in Europe?
