17.1 Legacy Series / upgrading from 16.7 to 17.1.1 disables my working ipv6 6rd setup
« on: February 16, 2017, 03:37:46 pm »
Hello all,

I have upgraded my 16.7 firewall to 17.1.1 where I lost ipv6 6rd connectivity. The first issue i had was a kernel panic  which Franco already fixed for me see:https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?topic=4437.0

I had to set my default ipv6 route manually with 16.7 but then it worked great.

Now the wan_stf interface  appears without an ipv6 address.
I have no idea what the issue could be because i entered the exact same settings in 17.1.1 as i did in 16.7.

Best regards,
William van de Velde

17.1 Legacy Series / Are root privileges needed for running processes like ntp openvpn lighttpd
« on: February 14, 2017, 01:09:54 pm »
Hello all,

I have a question why there are multiple service running as root suchs as:
ntp openvpn lighttpd

my background is more in the linux corner which runs most processes as a non privileged user but maybe there is a good reason I do not know about.

17.1 Legacy Series / [SOLVED] kernel panic after updating to 17.1 caused by 6rd ipv6
« on: February 04, 2017, 04:17:18 pm »
Hello all,

i have a kernel panic at boot when it loads the 6rd interface.
pfsense has the same issue which is caused by an upstream bug within FreeBSD.

https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/7124

Could this fix be included so 6rd works again?

With kind regards,
William
