General Discussion / Multiwan load balance triggers
« on: January 20, 2018, 03:50:32 pm »
Hi All

I have a multiwan setup and currently one of my gateways is showing 20% packet loss, this ISP is having technical difficulties.

Internet is usable but slow, my question is this:

For load balancing I have a gateway group where both wans are in tier1 and the trigger level is "packet loss or high latency".

So at way level of packet loss is the gateway switched off? does this only apply to failover scenarios?

Where can I find more information on how this functions?

Many thanks,

17.7 Legacy Series / Gateway changes requires reboot
« on: December 01, 2017, 05:42:58 am »
Hi All

I have a dual wan configuration and this morning one of the wan connections went out, the failover did not happen as expected so I manually tried to disable the one interface from the group, after many tries of 'apply changes' 'restart service' changing default gateway nothing worked and I had no internet connection (except for some machines that use only the failover line)

Finally I decided to reboot the machine and it worked fine.

I was on 17.7.7 (now upgraded to 17.7.8)

Has anyone else experienced having to reboot for gateway changes to take effect?
At first I thought there may be an error in my config settings that the failover did not work but now im wondering if there is an issue with the service not working as expected.

When I first set this up it worked fine and I tested it by pulling the ethernet cable from the machine to simulate a down isp.

Hardware and Performance / [SOLVED] Ubiquity unifi ap
« on: January 29, 2017, 04:40:31 pm »
Hi All

I recently purchased a ubiquity unifi access point. I was disappointed to discover that it has no web UI and you have to install the controller software on a local computer, I got this working but was thinking is it possible to either install opnsense on the access point or perhaps better yet (possibly via a plugin) to setup/manage the AP from a opnsense box.

17.1 Legacy Series / [SOLVED] Upgrade from 16.7
« on: January 29, 2017, 04:30:35 pm »
Hi All

I did a bit of reading and am not clear on the upgrade requirements from 16.7, will the 17.1 release be provided as the standard updates via the  webui or do I need to do a fresh install or some other upgrade path?

Regards
