General Discussion / vnStat on Multi-WAN
« on: December 17, 2020, 08:18:57 pm »
A question about the vnStat plugin:
when configuring the interfaces to monitor with vnStat I can select two (or more if I like) - WAN and the second WAN which I use for WAN-failover.
when both WAN interfaces are selected for monitoring I only get combined statistics pages - is there a possibility to see how many traffic there was per interface, instead of a combined view?
when watching i.e. the hourly stats it says "vmx1+vmx2

Zenarmor (Sensei) / passive deployment mode does not count IN bytes, packets, TPUT, PPS?
« on: October 17, 2020, 10:21:08 pm »
when I implement my sensei installation with the passive deployment mode (waiting for OPNsense 20.7.4 with the "better" kernel) - when having a look at the status page where the network interfaces are listed, "Bytes IN", "Packets IN", "TPUT IN", "PPS IN" have a 0 value all the time, no matter what my network clients do...

also when selecting "volume" on dashboard or reports, should I see here the amount of bytes from AND to the client or only one direction?

I do have the feeling that with OPNsense 20.7.3 (stock kernel) and Sensei 1.6.1 in passive mode it does not look right - I have done several uploads to cloud (Onedrive and an incountry nextcloud) as well as speed tests with speedof.me and fast.com - but I don't see all the traffic on the dashboard and report?!? when comparing the sum of i.e. apps breakdown and conn-facts on the dashboard, there is a huge difference...

19.7 Legacy Series / changes of vnstat after update to 19.7.9?
« on: January 10, 2020, 06:29:50 am »
Hi there!

have there some changes to vnstat recently?
after update to 19.7.9 I notice that the weekly report is gone and the hourly report looks a bit different...

having a look at the log of the update, it seems that it was a bit upgraded:
"pkg-static: vnstat upgraded: 1.15 -> 2.4"

after looking at the homepage of vnstat - https://humdi.net/vnstat/ I guess the switch for generating the hourly graph has changed from -h to -hg and the weekly list has completely disappeared?!?

it would be great to adopt the area in the configuration of vnstat in OPNsense to reflect that changes...

Thanks!

19.7 Legacy Series / unbound DNS service not started after reboot of OPNsense
« on: November 30, 2019, 01:46:17 pm »
What can be wrong if the unbound DNS service is not start after I reboot my OPNsense box (19.7.7 with Sensei)?
I have to login in WebGUI and start the service manually, so that my networkclients can resolve names again.
disabling, saving service, enabling, saving service did not help.
Any ideas where I could start digging?
Thanks!

17.1 Legacy Series / Tooltip text for icons and other "issues" to Captive Portal area
« on: February 12, 2017, 04:35:09 pm »
Hi there,

today I was playing around with the Captive Portal and would like to share some feedback regarding it.

I noticed that the command icons do not have a tooltip text while a lot of other command icons in other areas (firewall, etc) do have them.
In the "Session" area as well as in the "Voucher" area, what is the usage of the checkbox in front? There are no common icons to use if I'd like to select more sessions. If I'd like to terminate all open sessions, I have to do it one by one... it would be useful to have common command icons to use for the selected items.

That would be a great minor improvement to Captive portal in the next updates!

Thank you!
