16.1 Legacy Series / Notfication issues

I'm a new user of opnsense. I have setup muti-wan using the guide from the wiki and it works perfect - failover mode. But when WAN 1  fails i dont get notification on my gmail. This is the message from the logs

opnsense: /system_advanced_notifications.php: Could not send the message to mail.notify.logs@gmail.com -- Error: could not connect to the host "smtp.gmail.com": ??
BTW test mails works fine in WAN1 but not when WAN1 goes down.

I can browse using WAN2 without any issues. Just the notofication mail isnt going out. Also i see a lot of this in the logs when WAN1 is down

15.7 Legacy Series / Widgets on Dashboard

After upgrading to 15.7.21, Widgets on the dashboard doesn't seem to get saved. It disappears after hitting save. Anyone else experiencing this issue?
