General Discussion / Re: OPN ver22.1.2_2 -Amd64 Outbound NAT winth single Static Wan
« on: April 11, 2022, 04:10:30 am »
Got it!
The problem: too much twiddling with the knobs.
The Solution: Factory reset and enter my settings again, reboot and enjoy!
I can not thank this community enough for such a reliable system.
You folks rule!

General Discussion / [solved] OPN ver22.1.2_2 -Amd64 Outbound NAT with single Static Wan
« on: April 10, 2022, 11:01:51 pm »
Fresh install of OPNsense Amd64 with a public static IP Wan and private IP Lan.
I have tried to use the Outbound NAT via Automatic and seem to keep stubbing my toe on something.
I can ping the upstream router using "7) Ping host" from the console, but nothing past that.
I am also playing with the hybrid outbound NAT and will try full manual Outbound NAT next.
Once I get that traffic flowing safely, I am sure my DNS issues will clear as well.
Am I headed in the right direction? Have I missed something embarrassingly obvious?
Please forgive me if this has been answered elsewhere.

Hardware and Performance / Re: SOHO hardware recomendations: Economic, 5(+?) Lan ports & Wifi hardware rec's
« on: February 24, 2018, 12:29:26 am »
Thank you for your response. I had been looking at the PCEngines (APU*, etc) and others, but have not found anything with enough ports plus Wifi that will boot OPNSense. Never hurts to ask.

Hardware and Performance / SOHO hardware recomendations: Economic, 5(+?) Lan ports & Wifi hardware rec's
« on: February 23, 2018, 05:26:35 pm »
Is there a low power device similar to the Mikrotik Routerboard RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN that will do router & Wifi AP double duty with 5 or more Lan ports? I do not need the LCD screen and the budget can be closer to $200. I would rather not go with a OpenWRT solution if I can avoid it. I have been using OPNSense and other *Sense versions going back to M0n0wall days and would love to find a solution that scratches this itch. Any recommendations welcome. It will be protecting small installations with cable/DSL modems. I will be sure to share my findings and performance notes with the group.  Thank you for all your work in the community.
-Forgive me if I missed a previously answered version of this question
