24.7 Production Series / Re: OPNsense needs periodic reboot since updated to 24.7.9_1-amd64
« on: Today at 11:01:51 pm »
I went ahead and forced shutdown of Opnsense (running on Protectli) and then updated to 24.7.10_1

However, the dashboard widget content failures are already starting again and this usually is the preamble to the WebGUI hangs and inability to login to SSH.

Any suggestions?

I continue to experience issues where the dashboard items do not load and the WebGUI overall hangs until I reboot every few days or so.
My version is OPNsense 24.7.9_1-amd64

I cannot even get firmware status or check for updates when it is in this state, nor can I get past SSH login prompt. As though it does not like my password...

But after forceful reboot, all back to normal for a few days.

Is this the proper post or should I make a new post?

I'm experiencing issues similar to this where the WebGUI begins to hang and dashboard widgets keep failing and re-appearing.

I'm not sure if this is related to very large firewall aliases for geoIP or IPLists with over 58,000 entries... These were not causing any issues prior to upgrading to 24.7.x

I'm on OPNsense 24.7.9_1-amd64

I upgraded without any noticable issue to Zenarmor.

Anyone else also experiencing this and do you know the root cause yet?
Currently I'm trying the cron job to restart wireguard service daily at 6am, but I believe the issue resurfaces more than once within 24 hours...

Experiencing same issue here with Wireguard randomly stops working. A restart of the Wireguard service temporarily resolves the issue. It is affecting all my Wireguard clients.

It's still being worked on so I'd label it "experimental" for now. Use it with a grain of salt.

Cheers,
Franco
So therefore we should exercise caution if we're on the fence with purchasing Zenarmor subscription for wireguard support

I upgraded last night to 24.1 and no known issues so far.
I can now see Wireguard Internet egress traffic in Zenarmor, so I'm happy

Auto resolve did not work, but the Reset option appears to deregister it and cleared the issue. Wireguard VPN clients still working after testing. Thank you.

I checked for update again and now it's recognizing available updates and pulling them down.

24.1 Upgrade Not Available on Community US Mirrors yet. I see it was released this morning under announcements. I'm currently on 23.7.12
When will this actually be available to upgrade to?

I had the same issue. I also was able to continue anyways and finish the upgrade properly.

I also had a conflict caused by missing os-wireguard plugins. When I was trying to fix the conflict, it was bringing me in the plugins sections and wanted me to install os-wireguard (which didn't work since we don't need it anymore) but I couldn't. I also couldn't remove it from the plugins list.

I had to select "reset conflicts" and I was able to continue afterwards and the os-wireguard plugin then disappeared from the plugins list and there was no more errors after that.

EDIT: I discovered I lost my gateway groups during upgrade... Checking if they are still in the config file or if I need to recreate them @franco FYI...

24.1-r1 has been very stable and no issue so far for me (beside losing my gateway groups on upgrade, I had to recreate them manually)

Multiple VLANs, multi-wan (Starlink and fiber provider over PPPoE and another provider over DHCP), HE IPv6, openvpn server and muliple point-to-point, wireguard server, port forwards, dynamic dns using multiple providers, mdns, udp broadcast relay, nut (UPS).
Thank you, this is reassuring to know and pushing me to take the plunge early ;-)
