21.7 Legacy Series / Dynamic DNS DNS-O-Matic Service Authentication Error
« on: December 07, 2021, 09:13:46 pm »
When using the DNS-O-Matic Service type as the following entry I receive the error, "php-cgi[84913]/services_dyndns_edit.php: Dynamic DNS: (Error) Authentication failed"

Service type: DNS-O-Matic
Interface to monitor   : WAN
Hostname   : all.dnsomatic.com

However, using the Custom Service type as the following entry with the same credentials (email address) updates successfully.

Service type: Custom
 Interface to monitor: WAN
Interface to send update from: WAN
 Hostname   : all.dnsomatic.com
 Update URL:updates.dnsomatic.com

Am I missing something here?

General Discussion / Re: [SOLVED] Unable to access WebGUI via WAN interface

Hi Franco,

I had the same issue and your very helpful advice of Disabling reply-to at the firewall setting solved my problem. However, I am a bit confused.

Now when I create a new rule, that field is unchecked on the rule. It seems like the firewall setting is overriding the option selected on the rule. If this is the case, I would expect the option the on the rule to be greyed out. If the firewall setting does not override the rule, I would expect the option on the rule to default to the firewall setting. What do you think?
