« on: December 06, 2023, 08:09:18 pm »I would try to take the unit outside the wall enclosure and test for a while. The 10G sfp+ RJ45 (10Gbase-T Copper) modules I occasionally use get really hot, no matter how much traffic.
Maybe that adds a lot to ambient temperature in a very dense environment?
For testing, you could also try a 1Gb/s sfp+ copper module, although you won’t reach the usual traffic. But they are much cooler.
The 10GB SFP does get very hot so that probably adds to the ambient temperature I would agree. When I take it out and let it run outside of the media enclosure I get about 45-48C temps which I guess is normal. I may just end up strapping a 120mm case fan with wire ties to this thing.
