Perhaps there is already a method to do this; but I am hoping that if there is not it is a feature we could consider for OPNsense.

What I want is when a wireguard peer connects to have some way to add it to DNS using the same mechanism that DHCPd uses when updating Unbound.

The use case is for a road-warrior device that is uses both locally and remotely across wireguard but which also hosts services that need to be accessible using a uniform name-space in both contexts.

Suggestions?

I would like to get performance to the point where it can handle pppoe and other tasks (ids etc) at 10G. What (and how) should I be monitoring to identify the bottleneck points? My experience is mostly Linux. Are there any hidden instrumentation points that can be monitored? I really don't like the 'just blindly throw money at it until it works' approach. Sadly using pppoe is not likely to be something that changes any time soon.
