Quote from: franco on July 30, 2025, 08:17:24 AMMirror may play a role, but it's more likely there's a local disk issue or a download issue -- the download looks reasonably fast, but maybe it got interrupted. I'd try again and avoid mobile WAN connections for fetching updates as they have always been problematic.

Thank you both for the suggestions. The connection is 1g fiber to the house and all cat-8 within the house, no WiFi involved. The Repositories setting was Default.

I was able to get a good download by specifying the repository as what ever the offical name for New York is.

I am attempting to upgrade via the GUI. Have never had any upgrade or update issues. Had just successfully applied the last update to 25.1.12 and then tried to upgrade to 25.7:

***GOT REQUEST TO UPGRADE***
Currently running OPNsense 25.1.12 (amd64) at Tue Jul 29 09:46:57 CDT 2025
Fetching packages-25.7-amd64.tar: ................................................ failed, signature invalid
***DONE***

Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong or what part of the incantation I got wrong?

Thanks, Arvid

I think I'm actually relying on the part where it doesn't store something if not saved. I can see the utility behind the idea but I don't think adding another layer here makes sense (especially work wise it would require a lot of JavaScript).

I'm not suggesting it store something when I leave a page. That would be a dangerous 'do something without the users consent' behavior. I was just hoping for a 'You made changes to the page, were probably distracted, and are now leaving the page without having saved them. Are you sure this is what you want to do?"

But at least I now know that I didn't miss a 'help the user fall into the pit of success' setting and will try to pay more attention to what I am doing.

Thanks very much,
Arvid

Yes, a NOOB with OPNsense.

I'm converting from an EdgeRouter to OPNsense and am therefore wandering around the OPNsense UI somewhat aimlessly. I believe that I am losing configuration settings as I 'set them and then am "distracted" to another page to set something else' and then come back to the original page to find the settings have disappeared.

I can understand the original page not automatically persisting the changes, but I am wondering if I am missing a setting somewhere that would warn me that I have unsaved changes before I leave the original page?

Various searches ... like 'unsaved' ... came up empty so I thought I would ask.

Or is it just common knowledge that "MUST SAVE BEFORE WANDERING(tm) :)" is the mantra?

Thanks,
Arvid
