Hardware and Performance / gigabyte GA H170N wifi
« on: December 12, 2016, 11:08:01 am »
Guys,
trying to get opnsense worked on Gigabyte GA H170N wifi motherboard.
The benefit ( and issue) is that it has 2 LAN onboard, Intel I211V and an Intel I219V.
Both of them are visible , em0 and em1 respectively.
But, when I trying to set up traditional wan-lan schematic there is an issue.
Scenario 1:
I211- wan, I219- lan.
Wan - getting ip from upstream router.
Lan- configured to be static ip with dhcp server ( 192.168.10.1/24), but when I trying to connect PC to this LAN- nothing happened, IP on PC is allways 169.xx
Scenario 2:
I211- lan, I219- wan
Mirrored situation- LAN is working, but no upstream link.
It seems that there is some incompatibility ( wrong drivers? ) for I219.
Any ideas/suggestions how this can be fixed ( both software and hardware way) ?
