Hi fabian,

Your suggestion is very interesting.
However, I think Web Font is not an appropriate solution.
I am afraid your idea is useful only for not native Japanese or Chinese users.

At least, Japanese Web Font needs more time and resource to display text than system installed fonts.
If all text set up with Web Font, it might make OPNsense's behavior heavier.
I think the light behavior is one of the appealing features on OPNsense. And I would not like to lose it.

In addition, we use fonts not only browser, also other applications.
Therefore installing fonts is *required* for native Japanese and probably Chinese people, and we already had installed.

Best regards,
Chie

Hi fabian,

I do not have that issue on my environment.
And it seems caused by your client environment, not by OPNsense.
Can you view other Japanese and Chinese web pages?
If your browser also can not view those pages, you need to install some fonts to your client individually.
When I use a FreeBSD box for the client machine, I usually install Japanese fonts from ports/japanese.

Best regards,
Chie

I am very glad to hear that.
I will start to translate for the new template.

in Japanese:

現在のテンプレートについては、昨夜全翻訳を終了しました。
ただし、今週中にテンプレートが新しくなるそうですので、今後は翻訳と確認修正作業は並行して行う予定です。

I had finished step 1 last night.
But next version template will come in this week.
So I am going to do step 1 and 2 in parallel at next term.

Hi Franco,

Thanks for your prompt reply.
I will wait for new language file to become available until next week.

hi,

Translation template was already updated, but each translated file still seems to base on old template.
And I guess that translation server displays translation keywords from existing translated file's keywords.
Because that server shows me only old sentences, not new sentences added by the new template.

Therefore, I want to confirm who should merge the language file, the individual language's translators or OPNsense developers?

in Japanese:

OPNsense 日本語ローカライズの現状について

3月末から、翻訳作業を再開していますが、現在の翻訳の進捗状況は以下の通りです。

合計: 39145
翻訳済: 31211( 80% )
要修正: 2032( 5% )
未翻訳: 5902( 15% )
( OPNsense translation server

Hi Fabian,

Thanks for your note.

The split text is very bother.
I had also found some of them before, and I set split translation text similarly for split original text at this time.
But it is not a correct way.
If I find unfixed split text, I will submit PR.

I have already restarted Japanese translation on OPNsense from the end of March.
And current states are following:

total:    39145
translated:    31211( 80% )
fuzzy: 2032( 5% )
not translated: 5902( 15% )
( counted by OPNsense translation server )

And I think to need following steps to complete this translation project:

Step 1. Translate all fuzzy or not translated words.
Step 2. Check on OPNsense real/virtual box, and adjust/fix words.

I wish to finish step 1 by the end of May.
So if you consider joining OPNsense Japanese translation project,
please start as soon as possible.
We are welcome whenever you will join.

How to start translation is already written by dotike.
You can check his post in this forum.

Let's make it to better.
