Title: Unable to Install OpnSense on PCIe SSD Hard Drive
Post by: vchc473 on October 03, 2018, 05:27:55 pm
We have a pair of Lenovo ThinkStations that have PCIe SSD hard drives.  OpnSense cannot consistently find the hard drives and write to them.  This appears to be preventing the OS from installing on the devices.

I did a little bit of research and found that this problem appears to be an issue with the underlying BSD OS.  It was also my understanding that this was a regression type of problem that had been fixed in earlier BSD releases.  I'm not a BSD guru,  and I may have misunderstood some of the details.  In either case, I am hoping someone can help us determine whether there has been a fix released and incorporated into OpnSense.

Has this issue been resolved?  I believe we encountered the install errors with OpnSense 18.5.
