Title: WireGuard: Last call for testing
Post by: mimugmail on September 02, 2018, 07:33:29 am
Hi,

it would be nice if we could fine some more ppl to test this plugin.
If you have 2 OPNsense, or one that is not production grade and Android, you could test the plugin and do a simple setup.

I'd go stable with 18.7.2 or 18.7.3, but the feedback is a bit low right now.

Thanks! :)

I hope to test tonight. I have been out of town.

I installed wireguard and I have the plugin in the webui.

I looked at the future doc you posted for wireguard and it seems to only mention site-to-site tunnels.

I would like to configure wireguard as a roadwarrior/client vpn to replace openvpn for things like my laptop/phone etc..

Can you give me a quick rundown of the configuration I need to make this happen?

I am able to get a connection established from Android to wireguard on opnsense but no traffic flows. I do not see a new interface under firewall rules either.

My theme was preventing me from seeing the Wireguard interface in Firewall rules. Switching back to the default theme made it visible.

Which theme were you using? Perhaps it might be worth reporting that to the developer via github.

I already asked marjohn56 to have a look at it :) Thx

opnsense-patch -c plugins 2c8f395

Then stop and start WireGuard and you traffic should flow.
A guide for Roadwarrior will follow soon

I wouldn't put myself in that category but I'd like to give it a shot when the guide is ready. :)

Quick question, I could not find an explanation for why the interface wireguard is using must be left disabled.  Please explain,  Thanks

I updated the guide to not using interface assignments.

Normally you would use it when you have multiple VPNs balancing through them. For now you can use WireGuard plugin for "only" Site2Site, remote dialins like with OpenVPN or single cloud VPN like with Azire.

We've addressed the interface assignment issue for 18.7.3. The patch is:

# opnsense-patch 739370

https://github.com/opnsense/core/commit/739370

Cheers,

Hi,

I have opened an issue on GitHub for this plugin. I am having issues with the service crashing upon saving changes to the config from the front-end.

Hi there.

Sorry for the delay. Got a short vacation.
After the update to 0.3 my tunnel between two OPNsense boxes is up and runs fast.

Next step was to setup my macbook as roadwarrior.
But there is a problem. But I didn't have time at the moment for this.

Hi,

I have written a guide on how to set up WireGuard in OPNsense and use it from Android. You can find it at https://github.com/belmarca/opnsense-wireguard-android.

It's late, I might have made a mistake in the write up. Do not hesitate to point out problems :)

Thanks! :) ATM I'm writing guides for Azire and Mullvad. Didn't have the time for Android yet, very appreciated  :D
