Title: OPNsense and VULTR ISO Issues
Post by: ShoShoZZ on June 07, 2018, 06:24:19 pm
This topic covers those who deploy OPNsense on Compute Instances provided by VULTR, the virtual arm of Choopa. I have an OPNsense instance alive and well on my own account, having switched from pfSense. I would note, however, that some installation issues persist.

At the time of this message, the OPNsense 18.1.6 OpenSSL AMD64 ISO has proven incompatible with VULTR's platform. When you create an instance selecting this ISO, the instance will immediately stop after creation and fail to start. Only removing the ISO fixed this issue.

However, this same fatal problem is not replicated with the OPNsense 17.7.5 OpenSSL AMD64 ISO, which is also available on Leaseweb's East Coast mirror. I created the VULTR instance installing from this ISO, and then upgrading to the newest version. As suck, folks can still use the 17.7.5 ISO to get started.

Has something changed at boot, why such is the case?

Same problem but fixed as now. Just troubleshoot with vultr's team and they applied a fix
