Title: Routing traffic trough VPN
Post by: Dimi3 on February 26, 2018, 09:05:38 am
Hello,

Maybee a beginners bad luck with my setup, but anyway I would like to ask if someone is using VPN client and route trough VPN only specific IP's from the LAN network.

I try to setup this but no luck..in 18.1.2 release notes there was fix issued regarding VPN outbound rules.

There are reports of this issue also VPN HOW TO on this forum https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?topic=4979.0

I followed that HOW-TO, also tried couple of other options, but traffic from the clients doesent want to go trough VPN interface.

Regards,

If you can share some more details on what your rules are, VPN setup, etc. "It doesn't work" really gives nothing to actually look at and help out to diagnose the issue.

I'm running 18.1.2 and have a TorGuard VPN setup and I route a single IP through that traffic without issues.

My VPN Status shows the connection up and I can see the traffic numbers incrementing.

I have a rule setup on my LAN to route a single IP through the VPN interface:

I also use a port forward for my torrents since TorGuard supports it and I can see that working properly as well:

Hi, Sorry for not posting more details, I just want to know if this is working..anyway..after I lost the battle with the box, I did fresh install, configured once again and everything is working from first try..hmmm... now I even have the option to select HW AES-NI under VPN client settings.

Something went wrong on first install, I dont know what, what i did different in second attempt was to use OpenSSL inside firmware settings. On first install I changed this to LibreSSL.

I have VPN now working.

Thanks,
