Hi all,
I want to upgrade to 18.1 but everytime I get this error message:
***GOT REQUEST TO UPGRADE: maj***
Fetching packages-18.1-OpenSSL-amd64.tar: .................................opnsense-verify: error:04091068:rsa routines:INT_RSA_VERIFY:bad signature
Signature is not valid
failed
***DONE***
What can I do about it?
-
Have you tried a different mirror?
-
No, I didn't.
Where do I change this and what choices do I have?
(noob)

From the web interface: System: Firmware: Settings
You could also try executing these commands from the console:
[removed]
... then reboot.
Please backup your settings first :)
-
To specify a particular mirror go to System/Firmware/Updates and on the Settings tab you can choose another mirror, when you've selected one hit Save then try the update again.
-
If this doesn't work, you could try temporarily switching to the development version by running:
# opnsense-update -t opnsense-devel
If successful, from the GUI, switch back to production for a more stable version :)
-
That did the trick. Thanks a lot! :)
Switched to ieji.de and the upgrade is now in progress.
Super, Thx again for support!

***REDACTED***
User was attempting a major upgrade from 17.7 and this will "fake" an update to 18.1 and skip the base and kernel *if* the fingerprints are installed (like 17.7.12_1).
Please don't do this. pkg will probably break.
Cheers,
Franco

Sorry Franco, removed my comment.

Blanked quote too. Better safe then sorry. Thanks! 8)
For the OP: probably the wrong mirror. Would be good to know which, one in the past did not return the signatures in a raw format so the verification failed.
Cheers,
Franco
