Title: ASRock J4205-ITX and J3455-ITX / Intel Apollo Lake not booting.
Post by: MCMLIX on January 12, 2018, 04:15:19 pm
I have a Asrock J3555B-ITX board and have to add hint.hpet.0.clock="0" to /Boot/loader.conf.local in pfsense.
I want to use Opnsense for my Airvpn and replace pfsense 2.4.2.
Is their and patches or other work around for Opnsense 18.1.

Apparently their is a kernel patch for this.
Two post,  first a work around from here  https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=138221.15
and some kernel used here https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/59653/.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place.

Hi,

We don't know about the state of kernel patching elsewhere, so I assume the loader.conf.local is all that is needed on FreeBSD 11.1 so you are good on OPNsense 18.1...

We are happy to incorporate kernel patches from FreeBSD that would avoid setting loader.conf.local to fix this for everyone. But I couldn't find a patch in the referenced links so far.

Cheers,
Franco

Thank you for your reply.

I do get the same symptoms when starting the Opnsense 17.7 and 18.1 installer.
I'm only a home user, no expert, but this was the only way to get this little board to work.
I don't know where to put this reference on your forum, but do think they would help some users.

Thank you again,
