Title: Updates
Post by: jr82 on December 21, 2017, 08:37:41 pm
I really wish you guys would not release updates right before the holidays... Because every time you do it seems to brake things! I dont know if its because everyone wants to go on break or what, but this has happened ever year at about the same time for the last 2 years. Then I have to spend my holiday trying to fix it!

The update didn't break anything on my system but I guess it would be better if you gave details of what exactly happened just in case anyone here can offer some advice.

Well... about all I can give you is everything was great then it installed and I was able to read the update notes. Then it rebooted and would not boot into anything. I am getting ready to start trying stuff. hope I can get it up soon.

I am not really looking for help as I do wired stuff that no one likes.. Like ESXi. (This saves me space and money) but is a bit of a pain when the Router breaks. If I find the problem I will post.

What's not to like about ESXi, I've been using it for years.

Do you have a recent config backup? The quickest thing would probably be a clean install then a restore of the config (obviously, after you've taken a snapshot) in the new system - it's probably the quickest thing to do. Good luck. :)

I love updates.  Release them as often as you like whenever you like.  I never look a gift-horse in the mouth.

Trust me, there will be more updates before any holidays or vacation. It's just a matter of planning downtimes.
