Title: Installing on Intel NUC (MMC)
Post by: greg on October 30, 2017, 11:24:20 am
Greetings
I'm trying to install on an Intel NUC which has a 4G MMC storage device.
When I run the installer, the only option I'm given is to install on the USB stick I'm booting from.
I logged in as root and formatted the MMC using gpart but it still doesn't show.

Any idea?

Thanks in advance

greg

Most likely FreeBSD not having support for the storage device.

More like the memory card reader not supported. You can use the NanoBSD on an USB stick and later see if OPNsense 18.1 on top of FreeBSD 11.1 works better.

That was my thought initially, but if I log in as root and use gpart, I can see it and format it... wouldn't that mean it's supported?

Maybe the installer can't cope with these device node names?

Can you dump the following command's output into a ticket on: https://github.com/opnsense/bsdinstaller/issues

# ls -lah /dev

And let me know which device is the SD card?

Won't be available for a while, but if it's just a mismatch we can fix this for 18.1 images. :)

Thanks,
Franco

Maybe a bios option is blocking disk detection
