Title: which vpn to use?
Post by: tonysud on October 25, 2017, 05:21:12 pm
I have a strange network:
a lot of machines have fixed ip addresses on ethernet interface with different gateway (we have a lot of internet connections, some machines go to internet with a router, others with other router etc), some have dhcp address and other machines don't have gateway address, only ip and netmask

I need to configure a vpn server, so that I can access the lan, when I'm outside
which vpn server to use?
I need to connect from linux notebook, android smartphone and sometimes windows 7 professional

the lan is 192.168.0.0/16 (not /24) a /24 is too small, there's for example a pc with 90 ip address..

Up to now I used a cisco to go in, but I'd like to switch to opensource

please help
thanks

Hi ,
your answer can be found here https://docs.opnsense.org/manual/how-tos/sslvpn_client.html?highlight=ssl

good luck with the configuration.

if there are different gateways in that LAN, you should give the VPN Clients another Subnet and NAT them to the OPNsense Servers LAN IP. So all Clients know how to reach them because they don't need their gateway when the ip is from the same subnet
