Title: Proxy Web Filtering
Post by: walkingman on October 05, 2017, 10:37:11 am
Hi all
I moved from PFSense to OPNsense a few months ago and have found the configuration quit intuitive, a big thanks to the Dev’s.
Now on to my question, I have set up the Web Filtering and it works really well. I have Kids , under 10, Teens and young adults and would like to have different filter levels (ACL’s) for each age group.
At the moment everyone on my local network has the same filter level, I have bound all the MAC’s to IP’s and set up Aliases for user and age group.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi there,

We do not have a group-based ACL at this point. We do, however, offer pluggable directories for extended squid configs, namely:

include /usr/local/etc/squid/pre-auth/*.conf
include /usr/local/etc/squid/auth/*.conf
include /usr/local/etc/squid/post-auth/*.conf

With these you should be able to tune your authentication.

Web proxy integration is in a good state, but we know that there could always be more or better integration like what you are asking for. We ask for help to achieve these goals as we have other priorities for advancing the core system at the moment.

Thanks,
Franco

Hi Franco
I figured as much, it would be nice to have group-base ACL in the future but for now I will probably look at an external squid/squidgaurd proxy inside a VM and wait for the OPNsense proxy to mature.

Many thanks Chris
