Title: Can I install this modules with opnSense?
Post by: jaquintero on September 30, 2017, 06:00:37 pm
Good morning,

I from Colombia and in my Corporation we wish to use opnSense for our perimetral servers, but we have questions about the modules.

Is it posible install the modules specify below in opnSense:

- ASSP (to send and receive mails).
- Postfix (for delivery mails to internal Exchange Server with transport protocol).
- DNS (actually use bind9).
- Apache (for SSL certificates of our sites).
- Reverse proxy (to show our sites allocated in other server).

Sorry if my english is bad.

Regards.

- ASSP (to send and receive mails).
It may run if you install it manually - it is not in the Repositories. It is written in Perl, which is provided but you may have to install additional modules.
- Postfix (for delivery mails to internal Exchange Server with transport protocol).
Should be possible to install from the repositories but there is no plugin at the moment.
If it will be contributed, a plugin may be added in the future.
- DNS (actually use bind9).
We have Unbound as an resolver and dnsmasq as a forwarder available via the GUI. You can probably install bind via CLI but there is no Web interface for it.
- Apache (for SSL certificates of our sites).
No but thats the wrong tool anyway. You can do that with the HAProxy plugin.
The cool thing here BTW: You can use it in combination with the ACME plugin so you always have a valid Let's Encrypt certificate.
- Reverse proxy (to show our sites allocated in other server).
Also -> HAProxy
