Title: Migration from pfsens... problem redirecting to REMOTE proxy :/
Post by: icar on August 24, 2017, 09:43:00 pm
Hello,
i'm trying to do this without success :

Local network -> captive portal opnsense -> REMOTE squid

With :
LAN opnsense 10.0.0.1
WAN opnsense 192.168.1.100 (gateway 192.168.1.1 => provider)
Distant Squid : a.b.c.d port 3128

When i redirect (firewall port redirection) all from local net to a.b.c.d:3128 i can't access to captive portal login screen, but if a session is already started, connexion to Squid is ok.

If i dont redirect from local to a.b.c.d:3128, i can login to captive portal but Squid isn't used...

I tried a lot of different configurations playing with rules and transparent proxy but i can't get this work.

Any help please ?

Thx

Go to Firewall: Settings: Advanced and see if the "shared forwarding" option makes a difference.

I think we only support a local proxy that you can enable per checkbox in the Captive Portal zone settings. Everything else would be a feature request, because Transparent Remote Web Proxy + Captive Portal is not the most trivial setup by most standards.

Feature requests go here:

With PFSense all works in 5 minutes... redirecting fine to an external proxy with a simple rule.
So i return to PFsense...

Thx for your help.
