Title: Always run on LiveCD
Post by: ryanofisolve on April 09, 2017, 02:57:20 am
Hi OPNSense Users,

I'm currently installing OPEN sense 17.1 to a new BOX (assembled) ASUS gaming motherboard, 4GB memory and 1TB of hard drive. Now my problem is when I boot up OPN sense it didn't asked me if I'm going to install in HD just go straight to Live CD.

It should asked me something like confirming if I'm okay on wiping the hard drive right? Nothing like that...

Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Ryan

so i JUST had this same issue...

I was eager to try it out, so i downloaded 16.7 and it installed to hdd (unlike the 17.1)

1.  download http://mirror.ragenetwork.de/opnsense/releases/16.7/OPNsense-16.7-OpenSSL-cdrom-amd64.iso.bz2 (you can use any mirror, but i used this one)

2.  install it

3.  Do your initial config

4.  run step 12 (update from console)

5. enjoy 17.1

After boot is complete you can log into the system from the login prompt using user "installer" with the root password...
