Post by: bobbis on March 24, 2017, 07:39:52 pm
Hi,

i am new to opnsense and my router has only 1GB Flash Inside, atm i run pfsense nano on it , and id like to test opnsense, but the image i have found has an size of 3GB, so it doesnt fit on the flash, any way to get in image to the expected 1GB Size without having to set up a complete freebsd envoirement as written on the git README.md ?? (for i386)

Thanks a Lot
Bobbi

Hi Bobbi,

I could build a 1G version for you, but you have to be aware of:

(a) you cannot firmware-update it as it does not have space to download the new firmware.

(b) 1G images will likely not fit, but the images are already some 850MB, which makes you go out of disk space very quickly. Worst case, operation is impaired because a service is hogging the remaining space. We can try to find a 900 MB sweet-spot, but the chances to not have any problems with it are slim.

Cheers,

# make nano-1G

But if it won't fit it won't fit. ;)
