Title: update to 17
Post by: janne on March 16, 2017, 08:47:04 am
Hi.

Yes have searched but not found how best to update the OS
from 16.x to 17.x and keeps all the settings from the earlier version. Firewall eg.
Is there any way? or must I do if anything?

grateful for the help. :)

There are two ways:
* Upgrade using the console (neesd console, vga or SSH access) and upgrade via the command line option
* Export the configuration and reinstall OPNsense. Import the configuration afterwards and reboot.

Three ways ;)

Use the installer media, select "import configuration", then reinstall. But back up your config anyway.

The upgrade itself is seamless, caveats are listed from the firmware page.

Help!!

Hi.

I don't understand how to upgrade to ver. 17.

I have tried everything but I can't get them up menus that are said and I can not do a clean install, either. Is there something I miss in the boot that I shall do to format the disk and do a clean install?

Or is there a straightforward way to update?

I have not been successful yet ....

Very grateful for any help.

I have, among other things. a A10 Dual Core SSD

Opnsense 16.7.14 .00_2-amd64

FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE-p14

OpenSSL 1.0.2 j 26 Sep 2016
