Title: Insight and Netflow (v9/v5) not working.

Hi all,

I am on Opnsense 16.7.14, I tried beta 17.1 but came back to 16.7 as something was not working (forgot what wasn't working). I was getting the netflow data and insight till February end (Stopped working after March 1 12:09pm), but now I dont see anything. Whenever I goto insight it only shows "Data not available" message. What could be the problem? What am I missing? I am running opnsense on a VM and I have an old stable snapshot, should I roll back to old state?

I am planning to upgrade to the latest build but would like to know whether I will be able to get my graphs back.

Hi Bobby, I'm going to give this a solid "Maybe?"  ;)

Most of the Netflow and IPS issues seem to have correlated with the Realtek network cards. If you have one of those, then the new OS drivers may help you out. I had similar issues and ended up getting a pci-e dual port Intel NIC from eBay.

I would back up your current configuration, upgrade and restore. Downgrade to 16.7.x if you're not happy.

Hi Bobby,

The database needs to be reset under Reporting: Settings: Reset Netflow. And there has been a lot of progress since 17.1-BETA so I would encourage you to try. :)

I have hosted opnsense as a VM. will that affect the VM using intel e1000 nic?

Thanks Franco, I'll try to reset. I will perform the upgrade soon. I was away for a while. Hope everything will be back to normal soon.

Hey, any news on this ? My netflow / insight is also not working on my master node, while the backup node shows everything like it should be. Any Idea ?

No, not yet, this was happening even after reset. I think I will need to go with 17.1 upgrade,  unfortunately My firewall box got fried. I am waiting for the replacement to arrive.

Ok,
I not really sure if all steps are necessary, but in my case I got insight/netflow up and running, by completely disabling it, removing all entries and rebooting. After a couple of packets, the service came up and now it works. Maybe the reboot is not needed, but just disabling alone hasn't done the job. I really hat to empty all the configuration fields in the gui.
