Title: upgrade from OPNsense 16.7.14_2-amd64 to 17.1 on root console option 12 hangs

Hello,
OPNsense 16.7.14_2-amd64 is running fine on my Protectli FW108120 Micro Firewall Appliance.
When I try and upgrade to 17.1 via console option 12 it hangs right after dimensions, stride, masks...
This also happens if I try to install fresh from USB image.
See attached screen shot.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!   ;) :D ;D

Have a look at the virtual terminal driver setting, as listed under Franco's notes on 17.1 https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?topic=4416.msg16680

Thanks for such a quick response.  You were right.
Here is what fixed it:

1. Escape to loader prompt (3)
2. Type: set kern.vty="vt"
3. Type: boot

And then edit /boot/loader.conf to "set kern.vty="vt""

Although that is good news, /boot/loader.conf modifications are not permanent. Please select the VT driver under System: Settings: Administration to make it permanent.
