Title: firewall log time is not the local time?
Post by: tianmo on February 06, 2017, 04:48:47 pm
Hello, I am in  Time zone GMT+8. I have set up the ntp server, system information in the dashboard to display the time is indeed the exact local time. But I found that the firewall log shows the time later than the local time of 8 hours. Is this a bug? Or where I did not set up correctly?
thank you very much!

By default, log files usually use GMT/UTC time.

It is done that way so time can be corrected after, when it is presented on an analysis or reporting application (allowing different users view the data regardless the country they live in).

really? Ok, as long as it does not affect other schedule tasks for the firewall.
thank you
