Title: Cannot get WLAN to work
Post by: haro on January 29, 2017, 02:47:05 pm
Hello,
Being new to OPNsense I am probably overlooking something, however, I cannot get my WLAN to work.  Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.  My set up is an APU2C4 with COMPEX WLE600VX and OPNsense-17.1.r1-OpenSSL-serial-amd64.img installed on an SD card.  This image was chosen because of the FreeBSD 11 version what should support this wireless card.
pciconf -lv shows:
none2@pci0:4:0:0:       class=0x028000 card=0x00000000 chip=0x003c168c rev=0x00 hdr=0x00
    vendor     = 'Qualcomm Atheros'
    device     = 'QCA986x/988x 802.11ac Wireless Network Adapter'
    class      = network
so it looks like the wireless card is detected, however, it does not show up as a usable interface.
I know by now that some firmware seems to be required for the card as well, but where to put it and how to instruct the system to use it?

Thanks in advance for your support
