My keyboard on my fresh install OPNsense box doesn't work. I can only access my box through SSH.
When I plug my USB keyboard in, on the screen I can see a message. But no keystrokes working.
Should I change a setting somewhere?
Update:
# kbdcontrol -i
kbdcontrol: unable to obtain keyboard information: Inappropriate ioctl for device
Hardware problem?

Have you tried both USB 2 and USB 3 ports?
Bart...

There's no USB3 port on my device.

I guess the keyboard is not the problem.
After booting I don't get a prompt.

Can you show us a screen cap of the issue? Do you have a login prompt or not? This is VGA? Did you import a config.xml? Which installed version, which version currently running? ;)
Cheers,
Franco

No login prompt, no imported XML file. Indeed VGA but there's a KVM switch in between.
A fresh install of this version after a crash:
OPNsense 16.7-amd64
FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE-p5
OpenSSL 1.0.2h 3 May 2016
I noticed this behavior after connecting a new KVM cable which didn't work. Connecting a USB keyboard directly didn't work either.
I replaced the HD so everything is working fine now. I can look into some log files if you like. I'll run fsck on the disk just to be sure.

Didn't last long. After an update with the web GUI the problem came back.
The current version is OPNsense 16.7.13-amd64.

Mh, still no pictures to diagnose. So I am guessing go to System: Settings: General, set primary console from "Serial" to "VGA"?

Thanks Franco. Changed it to VGA and all works fine now.
I never need physical access to my device so it was a little hard to post pictures.

No worries. It's just a little easier then find the shared words to explain. :)
Cheers,
