Title: Alix 1C board nano strange Console behaviour
Post by: gdekeijzer on October 10, 2016, 09:06:35 pm
Hello,

Trying to install nano to an Alix board.
It was running MoNowall on a 128Mb card.

Made a bootdisk on a 4Gb CF card.

Machine is booting, but i cant input any characters ?!

Any character or keystroke returns #

Booting back on the MonoWall image (other Cf Card) i can use any normal input

Have never seen this behaviour before.

Any suggestions?

Regards,
Gerwin

It looks to me that you install opnsense on a WRAP board. Wrap has not enough memory.

Ah, thanx.
Apart from that, still a strange issue though.

Had some spare hardware so tried to install opnsense to it.
Back to the drawingboard :)

Hi Gerwin,

WRAP does not boot in packet mode, the SD card geometry is off...And when it boots because an image was custom built, it will sit there forever generating a HTTPS certificate, and after that it'll barely boot and additional processes will likely fail due to memory constraints (the 128 one does complete the boot, the 64 one does not).

Here is my old WRAP modding that works on top of tools.git just for fun ;)
