Title: Can't reach IP & management
Post by: rofe on September 21, 2016, 03:50:05 pm
Hi,

I have installed version 16.7 and ran the wizard at startup.

Now I've played around with some time, and want to configure something useful.

I need to change the VLAN, create interfaces etc. which I have done, but the first interface LAN is the only one that I can ping and reach HTTPS on. I've made another interface called IT and I can ping it when I'm in the cli on OPNsense, but I can't ping it from my laptop or the switch. The laptop and switch can ping each other. I've been through the network configuration, VLAN etc. several times but everything looks ok.
I've tried to make a firewall rule, basically an any-any on the IT interface which didn't help either.

Is there some configuration needed to be done for OPNsense to accept ping and HTTPS on an interface?

Hi Ronni,

Any OPT network requires to add pass rules in order to let packets flow between interfaces. Did you add them to each interface?

Cheers,
Franco

Hi Franco,

I had already made the rules.

The error was a subnet mask, a /32 which should have been a /24.

Everything works now - almost, but that's a new thread.
