Title: [SOLVED] 16.7-rc1 vm installation error
Post by: silent_mastodon on July 15, 2016, 04:09:15 am
Hello,

I'm trying to install the RC in a xenserver VM, and one of the early installation commands is erroring out

"Execution of command

/usr/local/bin/cpdup -vvv -I -o /etc /mnt/etc

FAILED with a return code of 1"

I viewed the log but it didn't appear to contain anything more than what the error above already stated.

My vdisk is set to 10GB, which I assume it large enough for the non-nano installer.

Anyone run into this sort of thing before?

Hmm. Seems to happen with the 16.1.8 image as well. I'm guessing this is something with my configuration.

Grrrrr, nevermind. I allocated too little RAM to the VM. I assumed 256MB would be enough (it's a very small lab testcase setup, not a production setup) but the installer proceeds correctly now. I might try reducing the RAM again after the install is completed.

I will add a low RAM warning for the final 16.7 images :)
