Title: Traffic Shaper, Rules: How to have more than one IP in destination?
Post by: Silverstar on June 20, 2016, 09:01:59 am
Hi Folks,

maybe I'm getting something wrong... but:
How do I fill in more than one IP into the destination of traffic shaper rules?
I've tried commas, semicolons and blanks – with no luck :(

Thanks
Silverstar

Have You tried with defined alias for hosts list?

If I use the name of an alias I get this error message when trying to save the rule:
"please specify a valid network segment or address (IPv4/IPv6)".

Seems that aliases are not supported here :(

The traffic shaper uses a different technology for its rules (ipfw vs pf), which adds quite some extra work to integrate this nicely.
There already is a feature request on GitHub for this (https://github.com/opnsense/core/issues/865 (https://github.com/opnsense/core/issues/865)), but no date planned yet.

Thanks for pointing that out.
Voted on GitHub and hoping to see aliases in traffic shaper soon ;)
