Hi there,

You can use the same credentials, but the proxy has its own authentication layer/setting and capture page. Did you see that setting?

https://docs.opnsense.org/manual/proxy.html#authenticators

Don't have an in-depth how-to for this yet it seems, but I know that some users rely on that feature out in the field.

Cheers,
Franco

I saw this feature. The users are creating in LocalDatabase, authentication occurs by the Captive Portal, but not in the squid. I know PFSense there is the possibility of leaving the Captive Portal as a portal for user authentication and other difficulty I'm having the proxy is to block sites for some users, add the Blacklist but is not blocked, I created the rule in the Firewall that blocks the internet content.

No, that's not quite right. Under Proxy server: Forward Proxy: Authentication Settings you can setup Squid to do its native authentication using any of the methods supported by OPNsense underneath: local auth, vouchers, ldap, 2fa :)

And Squid with integrated authentication to the Captive Portal, is this possible?
