Title: Maltrail not working - checksum mismatch for mailtrail.conf
Post by: Leviathan on August 15, 2022, 04:28:43 pm
Hi guys, I noticed that the py37-markupsafe package was still present after updating to version 22.7 and therefore I removed it from ssh with the command
Code: [Select]
# pkg remove py37-markupsafe without problems. I decided to reinstall mailtrail after last year's problems that caused the uncontrolled increase in swap memory but I found some problems. Installed maltrail, the plugin does not start: if I do a health-check the error that arises is
Code: [Select]
maltrail-0.47: checksum mismatch for /usr/local/share/maltrail/maltrail.conf
By reinstalling the package, this error disappears, the plugin starts but does not record anything, the health-check does not release any errors but the maltrail's log remains empty.
If I restart the machine, the mismatch checksum of the.conf file appears again.
Do you have any ideas to solve the problem?

If the FreeBSD ports package registers maltrail.conf the checksum mismatch will occur when the plugin writes its own configuration. In that case maltrail.conf should be a "sample" file in the port to avoid this issue.

Not much to do where other than wait for Michael to address this in the port.

Cheers,
Franco

Ok thank you. The fact, then, that the sensor does not register anything, at this point, I guess is due to the problem of the configuration file, correct?

Yes, but not about the health audit picking up a file checksum (contents) mismatch.

Hi guys, I've updated the firewall to version 22.7.3_2 and reinstalled maltrail (1.9-0.48), but unfortunately the server does not start, the red icon remains. I tried to do a healtcheck and no error is detected...ideas about where the problem might be?

I've tried to reinstall Maltrail, but still not working. Can't start the plugin...
