Title: Why not kick the svg view away?
Post by: macafee on April 05, 2015, 04:34:31 pm
We can find many svg graphs which was embedded in the opnsense. The latest adobe svg viewer was V3.03 which was an antique and Adobe discontinued support for Adobe SVG Viewer on January 1, 2009. Today, the new firefox browser has discarded the svg viewer, too. Why does the opnsense still use the adobe svg viewer?

Not exactly sure where your pointing at, status_graph.php contains a svg for plotting some traffic graphs. We do want to replace that at some time, but it's not very high at the list right now... I don't like it either, but it's part of the legacy code we're using in OPNsense.

Yeah, we have killed a lot of old stuff and that is still to be killed, but other things like config system, new MVC, proxy feature, firmware upgrades and so on are far more important. Pull requests welcome any time, but make sure that there is a viable replacement. You never know who loves that stuff until it's gone and they come knocking. ;)
