Title: I have upgraded to the latest version, this is a feedback.
Post by: wuwzy on May 24, 2022, 09:22:05 am
 :)   OPNsense 22.1.7_1
Yes. After waiting for a few months, I saw that the version has been iterated to OPNsense 22.1.7_1. Also seeing fewer and fewer questions in the forums, I finally gathered up the courage and clicked the update button. . . In this process, the download file part is not a success. I have done it several times. Fortunately, every update will download a part of the file, and in the subsequent update, it can be used. After 3 update operations, all the files are finally successfully downloaded. After shiveringly pressing OK, after several reboots. Finally upgraded to OPNsense 22.1.7_1. Today is the third day, and it seems that everything has exceeded my expectations. The previous memory leak problem does not seem to have occurred. Maybe in a few days, I'll come back and update this for everyone. I wish you all the best too.
cheers
To the bosses of opnsense. ;D

thanks for feedback :)

upgrade files are rather large, especially packages so that it could be needing a few tries on flaky connections.

This is day 13 of my update to OPNsense 22.1.7_1-amd64. Everything is running normally and no memory leaks have occurred. In the previous version 21, 16GB of memory lasted for less than 7 days, and it would start to occupy SWAP. And the current version 13 days, the memory usage is only about 1.8GB. The result is still very satisfactory. So I'm ready to go to 22.1.8. Ready to hit update right now, wish me luck.

Now that you mention leaks there is one surrounding pfctl use, but we will make sure to fix that in the next stable update.

;D Yes. I am back again. After 7 days of use. After I upgraded OPNsense 22.1.8_1-amd64, everything went well without the problems mentioned by others, and the memory usage is still stable. My machine is a very old DELL T system server. I wish you all a happy use.

A toast to all the hard working people
